Late Summer, Written in Yellow
Goldfinches wait for the thistles to go to seed before they nest, which makes them the birds of late summer. This design reads like a page from a naturalist's sketchbook, dashed off while they fed.
The artwork
Sepia pen lines sketch the finches, purple thistle heads and wild asters on a cream paper texture. Bright lemon-yellow and violet watercolour accents keep it lively, and the loose studies repeat around the cup like notes taken over one long afternoon.

Care
Hand wash only, using warm soapy water and a soft sponge. Not dishwasher safe, which protects the print. Not microwave safe, and please do not freeze it. Clean the straw with a slim straw brush and let everything air-dry.
