Red Against the Snow, Right on Time
On a short December day, the cardinals always seem to visit the feeder last, just before the light goes. This one is for cold late afternoons, when you want something warm in your hand and a bright bird at the window.
The artwork
A scarlet male and his soft buff mate share a winterberry branch, its red berries dusted with fresh snow. Behind them the sky is pale pink shading into dove grey, and gentle flakes drift all the way around the tumbler in soft gouache.

Care
Hand wash only, using warm soapy water and a soft sponge. Not dishwasher safe, which protects the print. Not microwave safe, and please do not freeze it. Clean the straw with a slim straw brush and let everything air-dry.
